Monika With a K - Candle Stick Holder

Made on the Mornington Peninsula by Monika Colic 

Lovely coastal inspired candle stick holders with a dash of rustic feeling.
Can also be used as egg cups.

I made these candle holders from slabs of light grey speckled clay by texturing the lace into the wet clay and forming the little vessel. It was glazed inside and partially outside with food safe glazes. The lace pattern was decorated with black underglaze wash and left unglazed to expose the beautiful speckled clay. Fired twice in my electric kiln at 1220'C .
