I've built the coastal inspired butter dish lid and tray from the slabs of grey speckled stoneware clay. Freeform hand build rectangle shape.
I've used food safe white glossy glaze inside and satin food safe glaze on the outside, and fired the item twice at about 1220'C.
In the last stage the butter tray was decorated with liquid copper lustre and fired in my electric kiln one more time at lower temperatures.
Fits nearly whole 200g butter.
Hand washing recommended, lustre might react with the dishwashing detergent and change colour, and the tray part is definitely not suitable for microwave.
